I had my eyebrows waxed at a Beauty Salon of one of the larges retailers in the world over two months ago. They torn off large batches of skin on both eyelids. I had to first go to my Doctor who's was shocked! the very next day. I was running a high temperature and my eyelids were almost swollen shut. It was infected with a yellowish discharge. I have had to go to 4 different doctors as of today for the injuries. I can still feel a low grade burning sensation. I had to take 750 mg of vicodone for the pain when it was non-stop for a least a month. My Doctor also sent me out to be treated for severe depression and a sleep disorder because my eyelids are still damaged and they told me that it will be at-least another 7 months before I see any changes and there is some permanent damage that I have to just learn to live with. The insurance company (aig) wants to settle with me but I don't know what a fair settlement should be.What is fair compensation for permanent damages caused by ripped batches of skin from a eyebrow waxing?
Whatever you do do not take the first offer, because the first offer will be the lowest where the insurance company will be trying to see how cheap they can get out of it. You have a claim, and if they were responsible for your medical bills then this would cost them alot more, I wouldn't take less than 80thous, because you have been traumatized. The whole thing is awful, and its really hard to put a price on your well-being. However I wouldn't settle until you are done with going to the Dr's., as long as you are under Dr. care then you shouldn't settle because of long term affects like nerve damage, which could still happen. The insurance company doesn't want to know the long term affects, they are ready to sweep this under the rug, but make them wait until your ready, don't make it easier for them at your expense, the offer will only get higher. Your Dr, probably encouraged you to file a claim, because he knows you underwent treatment with an incompetent person.Good Luck with your recoveryWhat is fair compensation for permanent damages caused by ripped batches of skin from a eyebrow waxing?
The cost of medical bills and the amount of money missed because of lost wages. Any money that you would have had, had this event not taken place. No more, No less. Don't be frivolous just be honest.
It's impossible to answer without knowing *WHY* batches of your skin got ripped off. Did the salon make a mistake or did you just react badly even though they did everything right?
you are just after money, so i won't help you! i'm SURE you had severe depression because of your eyebrows!
a fair settlement would be the price for the medicine and doctor visits as well as some compensation for the sleep and pain such as a couple thousand dollars would be fair. at least 1000
dummy, don't get'em waxed anymore duh! u can't sue someone for your own stupidity.
PS: i wax my buttocks
If you went into the salon with all your skin intact and left damaged they are responsible for your medical bills, pain and suffering, and compensation for any permanent disfigurement or disability. You prior conditions should have no affect on this as they had nothing to do with this injury. Since you have no idea what the outcome will be i would not settle until that has been established. I would have no pity on the store or the people doing the waxing. It is their responsibility to notice if they are removing hair of parts of your face. I would think something in the 100,000 dollar range ( above your medical costs) would be fair to them. It may not really compensate you if there is permanent scarring or contracture of the eyelids. I have never sued anyone for an injury however were i injured as you have been i would have no mercy.
OMG I have heard of your skin coming off but I didnt think that actually happens when you go to a salon. That must hurt so bad. Definitely ask for compensation for all of the medical expenses. Then you have to figure if you want to ask for compensation for your ego if you are going to look funny for 7 months. Those people should go through training, especially at a chain salon. I would be so upset I'd work them for as much as I could.
Wow, that's a tough question, although there is a formula the jury would use if you went to civil trail. Maybe you should contact a lawyer and ask them what your case is worth. It maybe hard to find a lawyer that will answer your question without you giving him your business. I would try and settle first for an amount that you think is fair after doing your research because if a lawyer gets his greedy hands on it he will take up to 50% when you did all of the suffering.
How do the eyebrow waxing go so bad? I get mine waxed all the time and I have had some minor scabbing when I let someone do it at the beauty school, but I can't amagine how this could happen. Sorry you have to suffer.
Good Luck.

Why is there whiteness above the eyebrow after the eyebrow gets waxed?
When i got my eyebrows waxed a looooong time ago, i saw that there was a white patch above each eyebrow (about the length of the eyebrow). I thought that it was no big deal since the hair just came off and i needed sun so it can turn the same color as the rest of my face. But, up to today its still there! Its a little bit faded, but its there. How do i get rid of it??? It looks horrible. Is there anyway to get rid of it?? Please Help!!!!Why is there whiteness above the eyebrow after the eyebrow gets waxed?
That's scar tissue from where the hairs got pulled out. Scar tissue won't tan, so it will always be like that. Why is there whiteness above the eyebrow after the eyebrow gets waxed?
Because the rest of your face is exposed to sunlight, but that part of your face was covered by hair, so the sun didn't reach it. Like how the middle of your butt is always lighter than the rest of your body, because you're always covering it.
because it is harder to tan through hair and its normally not as tanned and can sometime pull of a thin layer of skin which makes you look less tan and sometimes its the way the wax reacts with the skin and don't worry its not going to be white for ever give it 1 week tops and it should match the rest of the skin.
The reason why your skin is white where you waxed is because even though you can't tell, there are tiny hairs all over your face. When you waxed the hair above your eyebrow it took all the tiny hairs that actually darken your face as well. It won't be white any more once the hair grows back.
Actually, let the hair grow out and don't allow anyone to remove hair from the top of your eyebrows. That is where the natural line of the eyebrow is and it should be left alone and the bottom should be contoured to follow the top browline.
It's because it couldn't get tan since it was under the hair. Just give it a few days and it will even out. You can rub a little self tanner on it if you want to even it out more.
Get some bronzer and just fill it in.
because it pulled off the tanned skin
use bronzer and cover it up
it just needs to get sun. it takes a while
are you kidding???
thats where your hair was
no sun
you just riped your hairs and mind you Skin off your eye brow!! what you see is the after affects of it. new skin :)becca

How much is the proper amount to tip for an eyebrow wax?
15%, unless they did something amazing, like blow on the hot wax to cool it down for you. Then I would leave more. How much is the proper amount to tip for an eyebrow wax?
15 - 20% of the amount of the eyebrow waxHow much is the proper amount to tip for an eyebrow wax?
Well, where I get mine done, it costs me $15. Anyway, I leave a $5 tip because I get treated very well, and she does a great job too, so its worth it. I know $15 for an eyebrow wax sounds like a lot, but the place I get them done at is a really nice, high-end day spa with excellent service, so I don't mind paying a little more.
$2-3
I usually tip 3 bucks.
30WX
I've never had an eyebrow waxing that costed more than $10.00, so I don't normally tip more than $2-$3.
$2-$4
I get my eyebrows threaded every two weeks- it's only $6 a pop and i tip the lady $2 every time.
since i go there so often... you know, you gotta tip well! :)

Skin ripped off from self eyebrow wax. What will heal it faster?
school starts in a week and i just know it's going to scab!
what will help heal it faster?
i already put on the finishing oil that came in the box.Skin ripped off from self eyebrow wax. What will heal it faster?
put a medicated cream on it that you can buy from any drug store, completely cover it and don't completely rub it in and leave it like that as often as you can, it works wonders for me. Good Luck!Skin ripped off from self eyebrow wax. What will heal it faster?
I did that to my upper lip, What I did was cover apply polysporin (I think neosporin is the same thing) all over the area and not touch it, and re apply every hour or so and mine healed really quick.
You can get it at Walmart or pretty much anywhere, good luck, and remember, don't touch it (:
Polysporin does wonders for things like that, and itll forsure make it not scab, just keep re-applying it. Im sure youv heard of it you can get it at any store like wal mart =)
i dont think you can heal it any faster just dont pick it i dont know why you would but that may not be the best idea... and that sounds like it hurts and you are REALLY pretty
Put Neosporin cream on it. It will help to heal it much faster and it will help to not leave a scar and the scrab will not be that bad.

How can I do my eyebrows without waxing or tweazing?
I'm 12 and waxing is just too painful and I haven't tried tweazing nor do I want to. Is there any other way to work my eyebrows? Please and thank youHow can I do my eyebrows without waxing or tweazing?
If you have faith, god will do it.How can I do my eyebrows without waxing or tweazing?
Threading: It removes lines of hair. Hurts more than waxing, as hair will be constantly removed instead of at one go. Cheap. Can do it yourself. It's only good for small areas like eyebrows
http://www.indiaparenting.com/beauty/art鈥?/a>
Ok well there is threading..and that is good becuase the more you get it done ...the thinner the hair gets until it is no more..great really...but as for tweezing numb your skin with ice and pull your skin slightly..it really is not that bad..my sister is sensitive to pain too...lol
yeah, you can thread or nair, but really, plucking doesn't hurt that much AT ALL
tweezing isnt painful at all, just try it.
Have them threaded.
But may i warn you. It hurts like a *****.
Results are great though.
threading.
google it.
tweezing isnt painful! try threading. there rly is no other way

Can the hair be just above the skin line to be waxed - Eyebrow?
I'm going on holiday for two weeks and i don't want to have to tweeze my eyebrows as i always make a mess of it. I've only got 4 more days. Can the hair be just above the skin line to be waxed - Eyebrow?
All hair is meant to be at least 1mm long, if you haven't plucked for a few days it should be fine. Exfoilate at least 2days before your wax and concentrate on the area you want it. It will push the hair follicles to the surface and eliminate dead skin cells making the hair more easier to grip on to (plucking/waxing).
Hope it helps!!becca

On average how much does an person who gives facials, eyebrow waxing, body treatments..ect make??
so i hated my first year at college. i was an elementary ed. major and knew from the start it wasn't for me. I love being creative and have always wanted to go into a field that i could incorporate something with it. My parents stress the importance of having a 4 year degree but i'm being stubborn because i know for what i want to do you don't need one. In compromise i'm going to get a 2 year degree in business and i'm hoping to go to the aveda institute. I would like to see my self one day working in a spa and eventually using my 2 year degree to help open up a small shop. I need advice on my ideas and plans. also possibly the average of what an esthetician makes and some successful ways others have gone about this.!! help please!!On average how much does an person who gives facials, eyebrow waxing, body treatments..ect make??
It depends on where you work. A few places are strictly salary, although it's mostly medical esthetics. Most spas are either straight commission on services and product sales or salary plus commission. In that case, you determine how much money you make. Depending on where you live, esthetician jobs may be in short supply, so you may also want to look into nail tech (in my state it's the same hour as esthetics and high end places are always looking for nail techs) or straight cosmotology if you have an interest in hair and color. On average how much does an person who gives facials, eyebrow waxing, body treatments..ect make??
You are not being ';stubborn';, you are being stupid. Cosmetician is a dead-end job that requires working evenings and weekends. On average they make $24,000 per year and never get past the $50,000 a year (the most!) mark throughout their entire lives! You will still have to become licensed/.
I've heard of estheticians making good money (don't know the numbers, sorry) but it's dependant on where you work and the clientele, because you're making the big money on your tips, not your paid wage. So basically get your contacts going already if you want to get into someplace with generous, rich clientele!

Top layer of skin came off from eyebrow waxing?
so today i got my eyebrows waxed at the same place i usually get them done but this time it hurt a little more than usual and burned when she put the aloe on after she waxed. the lady that does it told me that they were red and she doesent know why because she always does them and there never red not even for a few seconds. but what i think it is is my dermatologist switched my acne medication to differin and its making my skin more sensitive. is this correct? what should i put on it? and it hurts REALLY bad to even touch it so i dont know how im gonna get something on there but i'll try. and i need the sores gone quickly because i start school again on wed. and dont wanna go back looking like this. please help. 10 points for best answerTop layer of skin came off from eyebrow waxing?
OMG... The same thing happened to me the last time I got my eyebrows waxed. It burned SOOOO bad.
The first day or so, it hurt and burn but it wasn't really noticeable. After that, it started to scab up. I was sooo pissed. I put alcohol and neosporin on it. You just have to wait for the top layer to grow back.Top layer of skin came off from eyebrow waxing?
This happened to me recently too. I don't think its from the new medicine but maybe from the wax. With mine the wax was too cool and ripped off my skin with it. It was red and sore for a while but easily covered up with foundation powder but was slightly painful to put on. When i got out of the shower or washed my face i put aloe cream on it and it soothed the pain before putting it on. You can also try numbing it with an ice cube before you apply. This happened to me right before a big trip to Cali so i feel your pain. Also if the sores are underneath your brow try using a light shadow to cover it up. Hope this helps and good luck!
it could be the differin, but most likely the person who waxed you had the temperature on the wax too hot and burned you. I have had this happen a bunch of times. put on max strength neosporin on it. keep it moist with it and it should go away in a few days.
if it hurt a bit more when she was doing them, the wax was too hot and she needed to let the wax cool before putting it on your face. tell the person next time to watch the temperature.
Go to your dermatologist and ask her for a prescription. If not, try neosporin. It probably won't work nearly as fast as the prescription but it'll heal.
Next time get them threaded or ask the lady to just pluck them for you. I'm sorry I don't know what product you should put on it exactly (google it) but you shouldn't be using a face cleanser or acne stuff or anything like that over that area. Find out from google what you need to put on it then other than that just leave it. Don't put make up on it. When school comes back if you can't bare to let people see you like that use concealer to cover it.

yes keep putting petroleum jelly and cremes on it and keep it moist. thats why cuts and sores in your mouth heal so quickly because they are constantly wet .

Where can I find eyebrow wax?
I've been arching or lining my eyebrows with a razor regularly, but in a few days the hair comes back. I was told that I need to get skin wax.Where can I find eyebrow wax?
I have used the Sally Hanson microwaveable wax from Wal-mart, and I really like it. Its cheap and it works great!Where can I find eyebrow wax?
get it professionally done. it's not that expensive.
it's hard to do yourself, but they sell all kinds everywhere. you should go to a beauty supply store though. sally's beauty supply, or davidson's. Professionals get their stuff there %26amp; don't worry it's not that expensive
I really recommend you don't do it urself.. its painful and easy to screw up. Get it done professionaly at a spa or something
Go to a beauty supply... Sally's... or there probably is another local beauty supply in your area
walgreens.
If you want to do it yourself, any drug store carries wax. There are all kind, ones you need to heat up, ones that you don't need to heat up, ones that comes on strips. If you have never waxed your eyebrows before, you should be really really careful and its kind of tricky, you don't want to wax all your hair off which can happen. You can also have them waxed professionally and it will only set you back about ten bucks. I recommend going to someone professionally until you learn what you have to do to do them yourself.
At any drug store or Wal-mart
Try Sally Beauty Supply or Ulta
never put a razor to your face your crazy. use nads that the easiest do it yourself wax you can find it at walmart
any drug store, or beauty supply store, or go get em done.
you can get it for free from your ear canal

How long will it take the redness of eyebrow waxing to go away?
I just had my eyebrows waxed about an hour ago. After she did my eyebrows it hurt. But then she put lotion on it. It stung so bad after that. Then she did my upper lip and I asked her not to put the cream on it. Under my eyebrows looks like i had a layer of skin ripped off. It's bright red. My lip is perfectly fine. Is this because of the lotion? How long will this take to go away? Do you think that it will scar?
Thanks :(How long will it take the redness of eyebrow waxing to go away?
not so long. just put lotion on them and it will go away i bet les than 2 hours..How long will it take the redness of eyebrow waxing to go away?
On your lower eye braw always gets red and stings. you a mostrizer on the redness. it sould go away in 2 or 3 days. that how long it took mine. you can also icee it. its totally normal for it to get red.! good luck!
Waxing should not leave your skin damaged, I have been waxing my eye brows for years and have never had any problem. There is no pain after and no redness. I do however always have it done professionally. You are either allergic to wax or the oil they use to remove the excess wax.
If you are using drugstore wax - please stop. You can do real damage to your skin - you can peel a layer of skin off with wax if you do not know what you are doing. .It costs very little to have it done professionally.becca

Acne medication causes skin to come off with eyebrow waxing?
I had my eyebrows waxed for the first time today and, although my eyebrows look pretty great i am not particularly thrilled with the missing skin around them.
my stylist said it might 'scab a little' because the wax 'pulled the skin a little'
she then asked me if i used anything on my skin, and i told her about my differen gel (adapalene) +benzoyl peroxide face wash and low dose antibiotic (doxycycline)
my stylist then informed me that in the future i should stop using those medications two weeks before waxing, and probably shouldnt wax until i'm done taking them.
now this is all well and good, although i'm not happy with how my stylist handled the situation i'm not about to make a fuss. I just want to know if it was really my acne medications that would cause this. I don't use my differen gel around my eyes, and i have a friend who takes very similar prescriptions and waxes her eyebrows frequently with no problem.
has anyone had a similar experience?Acne medication causes skin to come off with eyebrow waxing?
proably was.
look on the bottle...it says it on the directions and warning label.
When I use my acne cream a lot, in a few weeks my skin starts peeling and gets red. And it's becuase I used the acne cream a lot.
I usually stop using it for a while and then go back on it.
I usually put lotion on my face to help stop the skin from peeling.
It could be that or you just have sensitive skin.Acne medication causes skin to come off with eyebrow waxing?
Acne stuff screws your skin up. The differen makes the skin get REALLLY thin. I always found the stuff to not help much anyways. Yeah, just don't wax from now on. I didn't have trouble when I was on that stuff, but a lot of people do. I was on septa and tetricyclin. I also did both differen and retin a micro (i liked retin a better). You stylist is right. Just pluck them.
well, i use benzoyl peroxide and noxzema and when i get waxed nothing happens. Alot of times stylist don't like to take blame for things so they push it on something that sounds believable. Its true, your friend is right
Yes I have. Some places have a sensitive skin wax. They make a huge difference.
happened to me! it felt like a burn. i use differn also

I think the lady messed up your eyebrows and just tried to down play it. My friend went to get her eyebrows done before the day before prom and the lady who did them ripped the top layer of skin off around her eyebrows and all the way down the bridge of her nose and she didn't have a uni-brow so why wax was all the way down her nose is just completely insane the lady who did them was just being sloppy she had to go to prom with scabs all over her face poor girl then they turned into scars so her mom sued the place not sure what happened after that. It happened to another one of my friends too and this other lady got it all over her forehead around her eyebrows and got wax all over her shirt. These people just don't pay attention it's like they're in some kind of rush or something and aren't paying attention to what they're doing.
I hope they get better before then but if not I was with my friend the night she was getting ready for prom and she just caked on the foundation to help cover them up. She's like a really gorgeous girl and it's unfortunate that now she was scars on her face.Top layer of skin came off from eyebrow waxing? PLEASE HELP 10 points for best answer?
Sounds like your skin lifted and if it has never happened and the lady did it with the same wax she usually does than I definitely think it's the acne medication because it can make your skin very irritated and sometimes thin it a little. It shouldn't take too long to heal, this has happened to me when I got my legs waxed in a little spot, vaseline wouldn't hurt but keep lots of aloe on it, that's really all you can do, don't use a drying cleanser on it and definitely don't use any Differin on it! Just keep aloe on it and don't mess with it.

How do you prevent bumps after eyebrow waxing?
If you're allergic to the wax you can't prevent it. You may have to opt for tweezing or getting them threaded by Indians(better than waxing).
If you're not allergic...try washing your face right afterwards and applying a gentle astrigent solution, NOT ALCHOHOL.
Some woman go to barber shops and have men shave them, that can be nice if the man knows wat he is doing.
I Tweeze mine and then apply ice afterwards to close the pores (that prevents possible infections (pimples)).How do you prevent bumps after eyebrow waxing?
To prevent bumps after eyebrow waxing, simply don't wax your eyebrows.
Seriously though when you pull the unwanted hairs of your eyebrows out the bumps are your skin's way of repairing itself, or an obvious sign of irritation.

Vissene- I am serious it also takes the redness away
Rub the area with rubbing alchol ouch and then sprinkle with baby powder is a perfect home remedy. In the salon we use different products made for irritation that can be purchased at any beauty supply store. If you can stand the smell tea tree oil works great as a calming agent just dab a little on the skin that has been waxed no burning sensation at all.

Infections on face, horrible breakouts from eyebrow waxing?!!?
Ok, so I just got my eyebrows done about three days ago and oh my god, i have at least ten pimples on each side of my lips, and like 25 little pimples around my eyebrows, and three huge like 1/2 each, red swollen welts in the center of my forehead. I only had like 2 pimples on my forehead before this and they weren't big, they were about to go away anyways. But it's insane, i'm freaking out, they all have puss in them, and i usually don't have acne so i'm pretty scared. I don't know what to do, i really want it to go away. My mom said just to leave it alone but i know that won't cure this. If you know any remedies that will make this go away overnight then you're like god. Or really soon. I plan to go laser my eyebrows and lip, and then just pluck the next time. But, i am hysterical right now, my face is atrocious and i don't know what to do.Infections on face, horrible breakouts from eyebrow waxing?!!?
you need to see a doctor, you could have a bacterial infection from the waxing and need antibiotics for the pus. btw, it's one s, not ss,
It won't clear up...by itself. maybe cool it off w cold washcloth, ice pack, women that do bikini waxes/shave get folliculitis, it can clear up, but can be hideous in the meantime. I'm concerned as you can get scarring/pitted type from what you are describing... call your reg doc ask for doc on call or go to urgent care or call doc on Monday for same day appt. gently wash w very mild (dove) soap and water, no perfumed, triclosan, antibacterial or deodorant soaps. may want to take a picture , in case of permanent damage claim, save all doc bills, pharmacy. I'm sorry this happened to you...becca

Does any one have a eyebrow wax they recommend? I would like to try doing them myself instead of the salon.?
I have sandy brown/blonde hair and dark brown eyebrows that need to be plucked a lot. I get them waxed once in a while but not as much as I would like because of lack of time. I would like to try waxing them on my own but I am a little scared. Does anyone have a good product to use or any advice?? Thank you!Does any one have a eyebrow wax they recommend? For an area like your eyebrows, I really recommend Nads.
You don't have to heat it and considering how sensative the eyebrow area is, many people burn themselves.
As for suggestions, well just don't make them too thin, it's better to leave them a little thick and then pluck the excess, since once you wax too much off, well they don't look right, even if you try to make them look fuller.
You should brush out your eyebrows with a baby brush or clean mascara wand After you do that you should apply an astringent to anesthetize the sensitive skin under the brow.
Never wax above the eyebrow, only below the eyebrow.
Good luck.Does any one have a eyebrow wax they recommend? I would like to try doing them myself instead of the salon.?
i think waxing is too painful!! i recommend just plucking its more reliable for the shape you want it is also cheaper then waxing and also plucking your eyebrows is pain free it might hurt a tiny bit but you get used to it!! i think that plucking is the answer!!
tyr nair! its great! without the pain of waxing...

What is the fastest way to get redness out of eyebrows after waxing?
I am going to my boyfriends house about 2 and a half hours after i get my eyebrows waxed. I dont care if he sees me with big red swollen eyebrows, but we are going to a party later on. What can I do to make the redness go away in about 2 or 3 hours? And how long does it usually take for your redness to go down? What is the fastest way to get redness out of eyebrows after waxing?
Put ice on your eyebrows as soon as you get home. Leave the ice on for a while and the swelling and redness will go down considerably faster. Usually about 20 minutes or so.

Unfortunatly there is no way to make them grow back quickly..they just have to come in on their own time...sorry'but you can use an eyebrow pencil to fill them in some...and next time you might think about going to Sally beauty supply and purchesing the wax your self they do have some that you apply and peel off , you just pop it in the microwave and heat it up....( tip ..I find if you use the regular bees wax type stuff that you use perm papers to pull it off with instead of the linnen because the linnen is pricey and you just fold the perm papers long ways in 3rds press it on and pop it off ) good luck
Put some pencil in them like eye liner
Pencil around them?
Drinking lots of water and taking vitamins helps my hair grow pretty quickly. And eyebrows are hair. So that might work.
I don't know how to make them grow any faster, but in the meantime get a soft brown (or closest match to your color eyebrows) eye brow powder and lightly fill in the places you want. If you do it lightly, it will look ver natural. I have thin brows (naturally) and I have been doing this for years.
Not to alarm you, but with repeated bad waxings the hair will grow in patchy... that is, some of it will stop growing in. Find someone you trust and stick with them.
Eyebrow hair grows pretty quickly, you should only have to pencil it for a couple of weeks.
Unfortunately, you can't make them grow back any faster. Just use a pencil/shadow technique.
';Next, to create fullness, use a brow pencil or brow powder that is two shades lighter than your natural eyebrow color to fill in between the hairs. The brow should look blended rather than drawn on, she said. Finally, use clear mascara or eyebrow gel to fluff hairs 鈥?push them up so they are almost vertical 鈥?and then brush them back down, fixing them into shape, she said.';
There are also brow extensions but they're really expensive, and kind of ridiculous too. Personally, my eyebrows grow back in pretty quickly so just cover it up and wait it out.
nothing will make them grow in faster. you will have to pencil them in just remember short light strokes to make it look natural, and a color that matches your eyebrows now.
it will come quick, mean time go for eyebrow with pencil or some thing like this.
and for skin and hair care just in

just time will grow them back.
you can kind of pencil in what is missing till then.

I have a question about eyebrow waxing?
im on the acne medication differin and i got my eyebrows waxed last summer, and a layer of my skin was ripped off when i had it done. the lady that did it blamed it on my medication. i got a manicure today at a different salon, and the lady asked if i wanted my eye brows waxed. my mom explained to her why she didnt want to have them done, and the lady said the wax was probably too hot, and she didnt think my acne meds were a problem. i dont know if i should get them done again or not. what do you think the problem was?I have a question about eyebrow waxing?
Differin and other retinoids thin your skin, so it is the medication that caused your skin to rip. If you read the package information that comes in the box or on the website it says ';As with other retinoids, use of ';waxing'; as a depilatory method should be avoided on skin treated with adapalene.';I have a question about eyebrow waxing?
no the meds would do it. every esthetician knew that i thought! you are supposed to stop meds like that for 2 weeks before waxing! she should have asked you, i dont think the wax was to hot. it could have been a combo of both but mainly your meds. i suggest plucking if you are still on them, if not then wax away. any retin-a type cream, aha, or bha can do this and an acne cream is all of these
I cant say for sure but if I had to guess id say the first one who did them messed up and looked for something else to blame other than herself.
I would try it again. If it happens again, then you know the reason was due to sensitive skin.
Actually you were both equally at fault. Certain acne medications make the skin extra sensitive (which is why they advise slathering sunscreen when using a topical acne medication) and your waxer probably was a bit too aggressive and unaware of the damage she caused. Early on in the process she should have noticed your skin was reacting to the process.
You might try threading or having your brows shaped with a razor until you are off the medication.
I am on acne medication and I have never had a problem with getting my eyebrows waxed. It sounds like the lady did it wrong and that you should never go to the place again.
its because of your skin type
you probably have sensitive skin, because that happens to my friend all the time. they rip off her skin also.
i don't think you should continue waxing. instead try threading or plucking.
i thread my eyebrows and it turns out better than waxing!
Acne medication can make your skin sensitive. Most waxing kit suggested not using the product if you are currently using a stronger acne Solution. But, since people rarely use Acne stuff around the eye area there shouldn't have been a problem. Next time you get a wax ask the person helping you to use a soothing cream before hand. Or, simply get them plucked instead.
It could've been either one actually. If the medication is making your skin more sensitive, waxing would definitely irritate it. You could always try getting your eyebrows threaded if you're concerned because it's pretty similar to plucking. Good luck!

Problem with the Sally Hansen Eyebrow waxing kit?
I just bought the kit from Target yesterday.
I read all the instructions three times.
It said to heat it up for 30 seconds until it's soft.
and then for 15 second intervals after that [if needed]
but to not exceed 1 minute. Welllll,
after doing that all, the wax was still a solid block.
So I figured that I should just try it even longer,
so I put it in for an entire minute,
but still, a solid tub of wax remained.
Any idea what would be wrong?
I couldn't find an expiration date to see if it was old.
Has this ever happened to you?Problem with the Sally Hansen Eyebrow waxing kit?
i wouldnt do anything else to it.
return it saying it wouldnt work, exchange it, try again. if the same thing happens again just pick a different product.
good luck
I read all the instructions three times.
It said to heat it up for 30 seconds until it's soft.
and then for 15 second intervals after that [if needed]
but to not exceed 1 minute. Welllll,
after doing that all, the wax was still a solid block.
So I figured that I should just try it even longer,
so I put it in for an entire minute,
but still, a solid tub of wax remained.
Any idea what would be wrong?
I couldn't find an expiration date to see if it was old.

How badly does eyebrow threading hurt and why do people say it's better then waxing?
where can you get it done? How badly does eyebrow threading hurt and why do people say it's better then waxing?
You can have threading done by a professional at your local beauty salon. The first time, i would say it hurts because you're not used to the sudden pain. But the process takes a very short while, in fact, you could be done in minutes. I've had my whole face done already before via threading. Yes, my whole face, not just upper lip and eyebrow area. Results were fanstastic (not immediately after, my skin was still adapting, a bit red for a few minutes, but subsided immediately), my face appeared cleaner, clearer, smoother. :) If you have your eyebrows threaded regularly, i promise you, you'll get used to the pain, and will just turn into a sort of pricking sensation. :) It's quite addictive since you know that you'll look absolutely Fab afterwards.
(about waxing, i think it's ok, but if i'm not mistaken it's more expensive)
btw, i guess one way of describing the sensation of threading is --- having your hairs plucked out by a tweezer but at a faster rate and several hairs at a timeHow badly does eyebrow threading hurt and why do people say it's better then waxing?
I have done eyebrow threading for 2 years or more now. It is way better than waxing because it doesnt give you those bumps and its all herbal. my skin is sensitive. Tweezing eyebrows can make you loose you eyebrows later in and now one wants that to happen trust me!!
its better than waxing cuz it doesnt rip layers of skin off ur face and it gives them a better shape. i did it all the time, till i moved to florida and now i cant find someone who does it! :o( i think it does hurt...but i have a high threshold for pain so it doesnt really bother me....my eyes get super teary though its kinda funny...
threading doesn't hurt as bad as waxing. plus its really quick. a lot of salon do it now.
threading does not hurt as much as waxing and waxing is horrible for your skin cause you have to apply the wax and place a strip on your skin that will not only rip the hair out, but will also pull your skin. it really damages your sking in the long run. any beauty salon would do it for you.
threading does hurt...if the hair growth is thick or if ur skin is thin...the first 2-3 times it might hurt and then u will get used to it. again if havent got them done in a long time it might hurt again....
but some people do it so quickly that u never realise...but yes it does hurt..but trust me itz the best method ever
Hey!! comin from India, I have always known to do threading for my eyebrows and upper lip, It sure is painful for the first time, but doing it regularly makes it feel like tiny pricks on your skin at a random speed. Well it is true that it is better for your skin and a better alternative to waxing, and if done really fast, alleviates the pain a little :)

Skin irration due to eyebrow waxing what do i do?
this never usually happens...but lately when i get my eyebrows done some skin comes off i guess and it gets really red/hurts really bad and the next day i get a scab where the wax was bc of it. please help me get rid of this/prevent thisSkin irration due to eyebrow waxing what do i do?
Make sure that the wax is not too hot!!! Also you may need to switch shops, I don't think they do it correctly if they are making you scab up! They could be leaving the wax on too long. Good luck and put some neosporin on that =)Skin irration due to eyebrow waxing what do i do?
I suggest you stop waxing and start plucking.
yeah - don't wax your eyebrows

Ok, I'm getting my eyebrows waxed today and I'm sorta freakin' out here lolz, I need to know a few things first...
How bad did it hurt for you 1-10 (10 being worst)?
How long did it stay red?
What exality do they do?
Should I ask ger to arch them?
Will they look good afterwerd, because mine don't have much of a shape right now lol=/?
Fell free to add ANYTHING you want ,as long as it's not rude or hateful=]
Oh, one more thing after I get them done 4 hours later I'm going to a movie do you think they will stay red for more the 4 hours??

1. 3
2. about a half an hour
3. they put hot wax on the part where you dont want hair then put a piece of clothy paper over it and rip it off really fast/
4. i think she already knows what to do, and she is prob trained to make it look best for your face shape.
5. yes they will look a lot better trust me
you are probably making too big a deal out of this lol. they dont stay red for long and it doesnt hurt lik at all maybe for a few mins but nothing tremendous. the only time something bad ever happened is when my sister got hers waxed bcus she was alergic to the wax and then they ripped it off she got a bunch of zits where the wax was. and dont let them leave the wax on long cus it could burn you. the only time its on too long is if ur lik freaking out during. i dont usually get them waxed though cus when they grow back it looks wierd lol. i pluck mine i like it better bcus you can fix them the way you want. but whatever
goodluck!
umm for pain id say about 4 but for lyk a second and a half....reddness: a lil while....she'll know to arch them (thats the point lol) they will look really good and you wont stop lookin at urself in tha mirror (thats wat i did lmao)
ITS NOT THAT PAINFUL!
i waxed them on a saturday the day of my quinceanera and they were red for some hours
i think they wont be red for 4 hours
i got mine at 12 and like at 3 they werent red anymore
dont worry its not that bad.
i would rate it like a 5, but mine stayed red for like 20 minutes.
they put wax on the hairs that need to be removed, then put waxing paper over it and rip it off and the hair come off with it. i don't think you need to tell her to arch them, they probably will do that automatically. Yes, they will make them look good. and they will have more shape. and there is no way that they will stay red for 4 hours. another thing you could ask them for is they have this gel that they can put on after to take the redness away and sooth the pain, and its free. :]
Honey, do NOT freak out, I've been waxing my eyebrows since I was 12, the first time it hurt. Today, I'm going to get an eyebrow wax and a lip wax. The lip wax hurts 10X more than eyebrow wax. You should definietly tell them to the upper eyebrow too. The lower part of the eyebrow hurts the most.
-It hurts about 6 the first time
-It stayed red about 25 mins for me
-They put the hot wax on your eyebrow, then put a strip over it and they say 1-2-3 and BAM they pull it off.
-You should definietly tell them to get an arch.
-They'll look GREAT afterwards, just make sure you go to a reputable place. My friend got her eyebrows done by a lady who didn't have much experience and she accidentally waxed her whole eyebrow. Thats not common though. So relax.
How bad did it hurt for you 1-10 (10 being worst): 2
How long did it stay red: about an hour.
What exality do they do: put hot wax around the area you want to clean up. put a cloth like strip on it. and pull it off.
Should I ask ger to arch them: they'll know.
Will they look good afterwerd, because mine don't have much of a shape right now lol: they will look so much nicer!
GOOD LUCK!
it hurts about a 7 the first time
it stays red for 48 hours
they put the wax then the paper and rip it off
yes ask her to arch them
they will look amazing!!
it will definetly still be red!! I know it stinks but the wax makes foundation just slip right off!!

Would this look good (for hair)? Thank you so much for answering! i appreciate it. also eyebrow waxing help...
okay:
my natural hair color: brown(dark)
1.For my hair, I was thinking some of my natural hair color streaks (to get rid of some blonde; i have too much in my hair) and then a little bit blonde, would that look good?
2.Any tricks to keep pink in brown hair long lasting? I know i shouldnt wash it for a couple days.
Thanks sooo much! :DWould this look good (for hair)? Thank you so much for answering! i appreciate it. also eyebrow waxing help...
For your hair, I'm afraid I'd need to see a picture of you , and then a picture of what you're thinking about getting done.
Tricks to keeping dye in hair - There's a Semi-Permanent dye called Manic something, but they have pink dyes that will stay in your hair for about a week, and then there's enough dye left in the cup to keep your dye up for months, depending on how much pink there is. And also with this, you can wash your hair every day.
As for eyebrow waxing, it only hurts for a second, really. But if it hurts you that much, then get someone to buy you a cold soda and put it on your eyebrow after it's waxed

I'm 16 and I have been plucking my eyebrows since 7th grade but I want to start waxing because I think it looks a lot neater but I have never done it before so I don't know what to expect...

Will it hurt?
How do they know which shape to do? I don't really like the shape I plucked them into... can they change it or do I have to grow them out for REALLY long before they can change the shape?
Should I go to a place that ONLY specializes in eyebrow waxing?First time eyebrow waxing...?

My mom was waxing her eyebrow and wax fell and sealed her eye shut. help?
ok, well wax dropped down because she put too much on and her eye kind of sealed shut, and it doesnt tell us what to do on the bottle or box, or who to call. help?My mom was waxing her eyebrow and wax fell and sealed her eye shut. help?
warm water and soap. A warm soap wash cloth should be applied until the wax softens and rubs off. Tell her to try to keep her eye close. Fush with water and then reapply the soapy cloth (while rubbing the eye). If this dosen't work go to the hospital. My mom was waxing her eyebrow and wax fell and sealed her eye shut. help?
WAX ON WAX OFF
If its the wax that harden the only thing that you can do without harming her eyes. Is to pull it off. Maybe numb it if you can but if you go to the emergency room they are going to remove the wax the tweezers like scissors anyway. Doesn't matter which route you go it will be painful and she will be without lashes.
Take a hot shower and it will melt keep eye shut until it is all gone!!!
go to the emergency room
whoa! scary... wash her eye with warm-hot water thats my guess

Hair salon, eyebrow waxing/coloring and eyelash coloring near Temecula, CA.??
I am moving to Temecula California in a couple of weeks and I need some recommendations on hair salons. I like to get my eyebrows and eye lashes dyed as well and if I can find one place that does all of those GREAT!. I am VERY picky about my hair because I have bangs and curly hair ha ha, and as many of the women out there in my shoes know...IF my bangs are cut to short it is RIDICULOUS! Money is not a huge object but I would like to stay as inexpensive as possible, but am willing to pay for a job well done. THANKS!Hair salon, eyebrow waxing/coloring and eyelash coloring near Temecula, CA.??

Annoyed about eyebrow waxing!?
in the town where i lived as a student (i just moved back home) i sometimes went for my eyebrows waxed at this one place. it cost me 拢5 each time, and the woman would wax the area below my eyebrows and the area above and also the area between the two brows. my eyebrows would be thin afterwards which was what i liked.
anyway i just moved back home and went to this new place for the first time. it cost me 拢9 for an eyebrow waxing! i wudnt mind if they had actually made a good job of it, but the girl only waxed underneath the brows and between, she didnt wax above the brows at all! so i still have all the fine hairs there! also my brows dont look as thin as they would when i went to the other place, even tho i specificaly said to her when i went in 'i like them quite thin', but they dont look it, they dont even look that much better than before i went for the waxing!Annoyed about eyebrow waxing!?
Try threading, it can be pretty good. Also see if colleges in your area have a salon, usually they do treatments and are really cheap because students are learning whilst doing the treatments. Good Luck ;DAnnoyed about eyebrow waxing!?
um okay
than find another waxing place
or pluck the hairs above
buy ur own waxing kit
are u that lazy?
is this actually a question or are you ranting?
obviously, go to a different place... but also know your ';rights'; as someone getting waxed!!
If you aren't satisfied, let them know (they always hand you a mirror when they are finished and ask if it's okay... if it's not to your standards, then politely ask them to fix what you dislike). Also, if you're very ocd about your brows (i am guilty of this!) before they touch you with wax, demonstrate with your finger exactly how you like it done. keep in mind your definition of 'thin' brows and your waxers definition might be two very separate things!
remember, it's like getting your hair cut; if you want it shorter (or thinner) than you have to speak up, otherwise you're sol!

Pimples after eyebrow waxing?
U guys, it's been 2 weeks since I've gotten my eyebrows waxed and i keep breaking out above my eyebrow area. It's awful because you see like 5 bumps above my eyebrow area and it's not going away. Shd I see a derm abt this or just leave it? I'm not breaking out in any other area.Pimples after eyebrow waxing?
It's the hair folicles growing back. You should be exfoliating the area every few days until the hair breaks through.
The person who waxed you should have told you about this.
A rough rub with a face washer should help, or a very gentle scrub with a product and proper glove / scrubber will also work. Use a gentle pimple lotion to settle the pimples down if they have fluid.
They should clear up very quickly once the hair breaks through the skin.Pimples after eyebrow waxing?
i wax brows and this is very commen it really throws the skin into a shock for some people they really dont pop like a pimple there just like a rash more irritated sorry goes with what we women do to look great

First Time Eyebrow waxing?
I've never gotten my eyebrows done, but they desperately need to be touched up. I have extremely sensitive and pale skin. I had a friend get her eyebrown's done last year and she got red around them. I really don't want that to happen to me.
Also when I go to the salon, what do I say? Like how do I want them done? I've been told I have a good shape, they just need to be touched up. I don't want really thin thin lines.
And how much is the typical price? My salon charges 15, is that too high/low?
Thanks so much!!First Time Eyebrow waxing?
I pay 20 for mine, so 15 is not very expensive.
I would bring a picture with you that you print off the internet , I did that
if you just want them touched up, then just tell her to keep the shape you already have.
YOU MUST say something if the wax is too hot. I have had a burn before and it took a week to get rid of.
My friend got burned and hers left scars that she has to conceal everyday ://
also, my mom comes with me, she watches like a hawk as the beautician waxes, they have messed mine up before (made them too thin).
so if they start doing something retarded, my mom says something. So my suggestion, bring your mom or older sister, anyone with you.
the redness lasts for about 2 hours for me, I have really sensitive skin
so be careful, good luck! (:
EDIT: remember, you get what you pay forFirst Time Eyebrow waxing?
Things to keep in mind when going to get your eyebrows done, eyebrow waxing can vary in price depending on where you live and how expensive of a salon you choose. The first day your eyebrows will be red but that is completely normal. It goes away after a day or two. You can ask the salon you go to if there is any thing you can put on them to help the red go away faster, Like some aloe gel would probably due the trick.
I hope this was helpful :)
if they just need to be touched up i suggest you just pluck them. i got mine done the first time because i really nedded it i did have good shape but they were to bushy. the lady at the salon changed the shape and made them way to thin. i strongly suggest plucking them. or having somone do it for you
i have super pale and sensitive skin too, getting red afterwards is unavoidable. but for how long the redness lasts usually depends on how hot the wax is, usually mine are red for atleast an hour after, but the lastime i went the wax was to hot and they were red for like 2days it totally sucked. lol 15 sounds good tip the lady 3bucks
That is way 2 much $15 is what they charged me when I go get a manicure I usually pay 5 or 6 dollars to get my eyebrow wax, I have sensitive skin 2 and my eyebrows were red around after I got them waxed but about an hour later they went back 2 my normal self color. Hope I helped.
well my mom does it for me so i cant help u in the price and just say i want to touch them up so i don't have hair out of place and i have sensitive skin too and it does get red but it goes away and it does hurt over the day but not tons also i kinda think 15 is a lot!
-you get what you pay for, so dont go two cheap. but then again too expensive like over 20 would be a rip off.
-and ,most of the times everyones get a little red, it goes away
get it when you know your not planning on going anywhere for a day or two make-up always helps though.
Tell the salon you want them ';cleaned';. This means they will leave the shape the way it is and only take out the excess hairs below, to the sides, and above. $15 seems a little pricey. I'd say $10-$12 is good.
The redness will go away by the next
day.
Just say ';I want my eyebrows waxed,
but not too thin just a little shaping.';
Mine are about $8 but most of my friends
do it for $3.
It's a little high.
A good waxer will know how to make the best eyebrow for you, they will go with your natural shape.
No matter what you're gong to get red, thats part of the process.
15$ sounds fair.
yeah that's too much! my place charges 8 and they do a great job. just tell them that you want them cleaned up. not too thin
15 is wayyy too much. it usually costs about $6. all you need to tell them is to clean your eyebrows. thats what i do.
It doesnt hurt much, and everyone turns out with red patches; its natural. Ask for a tidy touch up and not anything to drastic. Mine costs 拢5 at the mo....
As for the skin issue... make sure they put some special goo, usually has aloe in it on you after the hairs been ripped... makes it feel better and have less redness.
they usually now the shape if u want one u can tell em thou', i think 15 its a little too much, i've paid from 5 to 7 at the nail salon
it all depends on your skin type, if you know that you have sensitive skin i would advise againts it. mine never get really red (only for about an hour after then thats it) but one time my mom got her legs waxed and hers were red and sore and itchy for like 3 weeks.
if you have a good shape already i would try tweezing. you can get a good pair of tweezers and do it your self, or if you are not comfortable doing it, the salon can do it as well
i usually pay 8 dollars to get mine done, but i only go to this lady who lives on my street. i got them done at a salon once and it costed about 15 so its a pretty decent price, as long as they do a good job, i never went to the salon again to do it because they ripped of a peice of my skin underneith my eyebrow.
and ya you just tell them that you want to keep the shape you have and you dont want it any thinner, and they will do it for you
Hope this helped and Good Luck
I agree with most of the users that have replied to say that you just would like the ';cleaned up.'; I've been getting my brows waxed for almost 10 years and a good esthetician will know how to shape your brows properly with your facial structure.
I personally do not think $15 is expensive, I find it quite reasonable. I've seen the same brow person for many years and she charges me $16. When I first started getting them done, I went to a nail salon and they only charged me $6, but the quality was very poor. Waxing my brows for me is like manicures/pedicures to some people, it's the one thing I do to ';treat'; myself.
Try yelp.com and type in ';brow waxing'; in your area and the site is all user based. It's the best user-review based site I've ever been on. And yes, the redness and soreness is very normal, I still get a little red after my wax.becca

Questions on eyebrow waxing and threading?? Please help!!?
This will be my first time getting my eyebrows waxed but im not sure if i should get them waxed or threaded? Which is better, and which one prolongs more?? And when you get them waxed what do they wax of the extra hairs and do they shape them? Also if you get them threaded do they shape them too??
In general how much does it cost to get your eyebrows waxed/shaped and threaded/shaped? Does it hurt for the first time?
there will be a best answer and i know i asked a lot of questions in this. =DQuestions on eyebrow waxing and threading?? Please help!!?
Well both of them are okay.
Either way, they will shape your eyebrow but it depends on the person who is threading/shaping your eyebrows. Find someone with a good reputation so your eyebrows won't come out misshaped and uneven.
In general, it costs about $5 to $15. It will hurt for the first time, unfortunately (unless you are immune to pain) . For the first time, I would go with waxing because its fast and only stings for a second whereas threading stings for much longer. But after that, I would go with threading because waxing tends to make your skin sag under the eyebrow over time.
I got my eyebrows first threaded when I was 12 and it stung. From then, I just bought a tweezer and tweezed all the extra little hairs under the eyebrow.
-hope this helped-Questions on eyebrow waxing and threading?? Please help!!?
The most important thing is finding someone that has a good rep. Both waxing and threading can turn out horrible if the person isn't good. Focus on that. I think threading last longer.
do threading. it makes the eyebrow look better, and it hurts less than waxing does

Eyebrow Waxing Problem!?
Yesterday I got my eyebrows waxed for the first time, and it didn't really hurt (surprisingly) during the actual process until the end when the waxer put what some astringent or alcohol on it. That BURNED and I had two strips of red skin under my brows.
Their still there and i have my cousins wedding to go to at 5:00 TODAY.is there anything i can do to cover it up or help it without irratating it even more?
Thanks=)Eyebrow Waxing Problem!?
Use a base to even out the acidity level.
If that doesn't work than make sure you get some bangs long enough to cover your eyebrows...
or get a hairstyle that covers your eyes.
or use hypoalergenic makeup AFTER soaking your face it a COLD base... (you can try really cold water and corn starch or just milk etc..)Eyebrow Waxing Problem!?
You need to soothe your irritated skin
take buttermilk(or regular milk I guess) thats been in the fridge (should be cool) and soak a napkin/small towel with it and place it over your eyebrows
or you can go to the pharmacy and buy a soothing cream like this one http://www.monistat.com/soothingcare/lif鈥?/a>
if ure really desperate I guess you can try plain old ice cubes (dont apply directly to skin, wrap in towel/napkin first)
i've had this happen to me
first of all, take a flannel, dip in water as hot as you can stand it, and place over the affected area, this opens your pores, cleanse with just water, and then repeat using cold water, this closes them, apply slices of cucumber to your eyebrows and lie back for 10-15 mins, this is the most natural way to soothe irritated skin like this, hopefully the redness will have died down by the time you are ready to go, whatever you do do not put anything else on them, you are obviously sensitive in this area, as am i, time taught me this lesson, good luck
OH GOD! I know what you are talking about. My skin was uber dry and I really shouldn't have had them waxed but I did, and I don't mean to scare you, and they probably aren't even close to as bad as mine, because my skin was uber dry due to a medication I was taking. But after it was red in a few days my skin started peeling off there and getting all weepy. It was a disaster. I would just put moisturizer on it, and maybe a very light concealer. I'm sorry I can't help, this really sucks. And its awful things like this happen.

Is eyebrow waxing with slight dry skin on?
I'm 18 but have never plucked my eyebrows or had them waxed. I'd like to go to a salon and get them done now, in part so that my first time isn't right before prom (I think it would add to the anxiety I will already be feeling since I'm quite scared it will hurt.) The problem is that I have a patch of dry skin/redness underneath one of my eyebrows. Is waxing likely to irritate it further or hurt more than usual because of the dry skin?Is eyebrow waxing with slight dry skin on?
These answers are ridiculous. It does not hurt that bad, it is not traumatizing. Make an appointment with an aesthetician, and when you get there explain your concerns to her. She can help you decide if it is a good idea or a bad idea.
It is hard to know without seeing it, but my opinion is it will be okay, and no it will not hurt more because of dry skin.
Don't add anymore anxiety on yourself. Prom is supposed to be fun! Relax! But do go a few days ahead of time. The hair doesn't grow back for 4-6 weeks anyhow so that won't be a problem.
Good luck!Is eyebrow waxing with slight dry skin on?
Yeah waxing is going to irritate..
DON'T WAX, one day I went to the salon to wax my eyebrows, and the women who waxed my eyebrows got it wrong!!!.. I am 16 and I told her not to wax my eyebrows THAT thin, AND SHE DID!!!!
I CRY FOR 2 days NOT KIDDING... my eyebrows were uneven and horrible... they haven't grow yet.. it's been tree weeks now.. and my hairs are so tiny.. AND I SOOO REGRET GOING TO THE SALON THAT DAY...
:(
IT WAS A REAL TRAUMA.. BELIEVE ME...
%26amp;BTW, by waxing your eyebrows your lids can fall :(
INSTEAD OF WAXING GET THEM PLUCK OR THREAD...
:)
HOPE I HELPED!!
well my skin is really dry and i went to get mine waxed and it was red at first, but thats normal. whenever you get back just make sure you put moisturizer over your eyebrows or they will dry.the redness will go away overnight or in a few hours.
If your skin is dry around the eye, yes it will hurt and irritate. Get your face clear of all patches and then go get you a nice eyebrow job. It doesn't have to be waxed. They have other ways. Ck out a Salon and talk to them. JK
it really shouldnt make a difference if you have dry skin. my friend does it all the time. but it will hurt and be red for about 15-30 minutes. but it wont stay. hope i helped :)
hmm it might hurt or rip some dead or dry skin off.. be careful!

Help...eyebrow waxing issue?
i use prescription acne treatment from the dermatologist. my skin is perfectly clear because of it, and so i'd never stop using it. however, when i went to get my eyebrows done, they wouldn't let me. they said that the treatment takes a layer of skin off and so does the waxing so it causes a third degree burn!
what can i do? i've been plucking my own eyebrows for the past year or so. they just don't look as good and they're still too thick. im not eager to thin them out a lot on my own because i'm afraid i'll mess them up.
i was thinking i'd stop using the face treatment for twenty four hours and then get my eyebrows done.
too risky? what should i do?Help...eyebrow waxing issue?
OM! same thing with me!!!!! i stop using it the day before i get them done then when i get them done i wait for redness to go away theni put my cream on!!!
sooo just stop using it then yea!!!!!!!!! lolHelp...eyebrow waxing issue?
Ive had the same problem! I was told i couldn't use my skincare treatment, and wax. Just dont use the treatment for 24 hours, then get your eyebrows done. But I would recommend Threading, it's alot less painful, it doesn't remove a layer of skin, and lasts twice as long!
Good Luck!
ohh thats a tough situation =[
I think you should use alot of moisterizer!
But if that doesnt work , I would go to the eyebrow waxer and ask them if they could pluck your eyebrows instead of waxing. It will look just as good! and you wont have a 3rd degree burn lol.
good luck =D
Most salons offer eyebrow treatment. Do not discontinue with the acne treatment. It has already cleared your skin, why would you stop? Have a professional thin and shape your eyebrows. No fuss, no muss!!
I'm sorry but if you want your skin clear you have to stay away from waxing. And I don't think 24 hours will be enough for your skin to recover. Try threading works just as well as waxing. Good luck!
well i have a prescription acne thing too for my face
%26amp; i %26lt;3 it
but i still get my eye brows waxed every three weeks so you should be fine
yeah, i would stop using the acne care and go get them done. not like the pimples are gonna come back over-night ! :):)
u use the acne treatment on ur eyebrows? lol i suggest to just do threading its better and easier and hurts alot less than waxing .. gd luck
i think that its too risky. i guess you have to decide which one you want more; clear skin or perfect eyebrows?
try eyebrow threading instead.....it hurts less then waxing but it takes longer and lasts longer....
Do it. Get you brows done girl!

First eyebrow waxing?
i want to get my eyebrows waxed before school starts. I will be 13 then, in 8th grade. My aunt owns a salon where they do waxing so that is where i am going. My eyebrow hair is pretty light and thin compared to my head hair (dark brown head hair but my eyebrows are a little lighter and kinda thin). They are not extremely ugly and hairy but they don't have a good shape to them. Can you get the top of the eyebrow waxed too, or is it bad?, because the top of my eyebrows is like pointy and i dont really like it. Also how long do the eyebrows stay red and swollen?First eyebrow waxing?
just for about an hour put some ice on them and yes you can get the top done tooFirst eyebrow waxing?
personally, i like plucking them better, cause you can shape them slowly. But yes, you can get them waxed on top too. my sister got it done and they weren't perfectly even and there's not much you can do for it after they've already ripped the hair out! Oh, and hers stayed swollen about an hour or so.
RELAX! i don;t suggest you do the top, i heard on the radio it doesent look good. so dont do it. breath in. Breath out, and it'll be over before you know it.
WARNING! : DONT ITCH IT
trust me its an irresistable temptation but i have been doing it every month since grade six and i am going to grade 9 in sep.

yea u can get them waxed up on top and they usually stay red for just like at least 20 mins. at least thats wat happened to my friends. when i got mine waxed they stayed red for 2 days! my mom said its probably bc i have really sensitive skin but thats the only time they stayed like that.
i just got mine done and they make your eyes water alot right before squeeze your eyes though and yes you can but its not very good to do the top atleast back in paris we dont....it doesnt stay red for long but it gets very sensitive
word of advice from a teenager...
stay focus with your education, nice eyebrows aren't going to get you a diploma.
Stick your education.
Ive gotten my eyebrows waxed since i was 10. it doesn't hurt that much and it only stays red 4 like 2 hours, and yes they do wax the top.
wax it however you want
just make sure the brows are identical and they look natural. they only stay red for like an hour or two.
yes you can have to top waxed too and it dosent stay red for long.
Do you mean threading or waxing? If you threading, it's okay to do wherever you want. You could just ask whoever is doing the procedure how avoid getting ingrown hairs and what not. Your eyebrows wouldn't swell, by the way. And it depends on your complexion how long it will stay red. For lighter skin people, the redness would be visible longer. For darker skin people, the redness would be all that visible. If you are ashamed it being red, as soon as you get home, sleep and by the time you wake up it will gone. Just don't touch it up too much.becca
just for about an hour put some ice on them and yes you can get the top done tooFirst eyebrow waxing?
personally, i like plucking them better, cause you can shape them slowly.

Home Eyebrow Waxing?
I have been using wax strips that are not shaped and I am wondering how people do their own eyebrows at home? I have managed a little bit but some of the very fine hairs have not come out and I cannot seem to get bottom of the brow - there is a small gap between the waxed place and where the I want the hairs to be. How do people manage to get right up close to it? Because that bothersome bit is the main part that I want waxed!! Any hints or tips? Thanks :)
By the way, it is not one that has heated wax that you put on, and then the strip - it is pre waxed strips, if you get what I mean? Like the veet ones. Oh and please dont tell me to go to a salon to get it done because I have already bought these strips and would like to know how to use them before giving up and going to a professional!!!Home Eyebrow Waxing?
Yeah, you'd think they'd make curved wax strips for eyebrows... I do one of two things, either get as close as I can with the little rectangular strips and then get the rest with a tweezer, or cut the bigger strips into a curved shape that matches the curve of my brow.

Eyebrow waxing + sensitive skin?
Hey everyone, I'm going to a salon tomorrow to get my hair cut, %26amp; I think I also want to get my eyebrows waxed. It will be my first time doing it, so I'm a bit concerned.
The issue:
- I have really sensitive skin on my face %26amp; I'm concerned about the redness lasting into Wednesday (my first day of school)
Anyone else have sensitive skin %26amp; have any input on whether or not I should do this?
Any other tips/comments are appreciated too =] Thanks!Eyebrow waxing + sensitive skin?
I get my eyebrows waxed all the time and my skin is a little sensitive, they only stay red for a few minutes now. The first time I think it was red for an hour or so. I went with a friend once who had REALLY sensitive skin and it was her first time and still it lasted no more than an hour or two. There should be no way that it would last over night and during school! :0)Eyebrow waxing + sensitive skin?
My face is soo sensitive. I break out if they put aloe vera or alchohal on my face when they do mine so I just have them ue vaseline.
If you're getting your eyebrows waxed, putting aloe vera on the area that was waxed right after is probably the best idea. (Or another type of skin soother). Also, ask the people at the salon what types of waxing is gentle and what types wouldn't be good for sensitive skin.
Hope I could help!
the redness won't last till Wednesday
my skin turns red after getting my eyebrows waxed too
it only lasts, maybe for the longest, an hour
I am very sensitive too and just be careful because waxing hurts the top layer of skin. Check into this .......I just heard about it and hope to find someone who knows how to do it. It's called ';threading';.
Threading is Persian technique of hair removal . Eyebrow threading is more precise and does not cause the irritation of waxing. Hope that helps.
I have sensitive skin also, and get my eyebrows done all the time. Mine stay very red for a few hours, but are fine by the next day. I don't think you'll have a problem, but there's always a chance you may have a reaction to the wax. In that case it might take a few days to heal. See what the stylist says.
For sensitive skin threading the eyebrows is the best way. Its natural and all you are using is a thread to remove the hair. Try it, I have sensitive skin and I get mine threaded. It works well!
i think you're suppose to put water on your eyebrown (not too much) before or after. (i've forgotten. %26gt;.%26lt;)
anyway, just raise your concern to your stylist.

**I'll pick BeSt AnSwEr=]**
btw. I'm getting it done at a day spa/hair place.... is that a good place to get it done??Eyebrow Waxing???!!!??? {{PLZZ Answer}}?
they only do the bottom, it hurts like a 4 but lasts for a fraction of a second. it stays red for about an hour afterwards, and you will have to tweeze still, i prefer waxing though. just be aware that after they wax they may need o tweeze a couple of stray hairs, i just didnt want you to be scared if they do! you will love it compaired to tweezing. i doEyebrow Waxing???!!!??? {{PLZZ Answer}}?
for me a 5
mine doesnt get red,but if it does probably just 1 day
yes it looks good
yes but you wont get the same effects of waxing
yes top and bottom and even in the middle of both eyebrows
waxing lasts a good little while.
yes that is a good place to go.good luck.=]
It hurts like a 4, with 10 being stabbed, 8 being childbirth, and 2 being a papercut.
It will stay red only about 20 mins. Less if you put ice on it.
It will look AWESOME!
You can get by with getting waxed 3-4 times a year, and tweezing in between.
Yes, if the top needs it.
Tell them it's your first time, and don't wash your face right before hand. It will make it so that the wax pulls new skin off the top layer. So, if your appt is at 3:00, wash your face at 8 am, and don't touch it again until after you are waxed. Don't put on moisturizer. Don't wear any foundation or eye shadow until after you are waxed. They will put cooling oil on there afterwards... it will feel good.
I wouldn't worry about the pain, it's only for a second, but if you need a number then.....6. I still wouldn't worry about it though. Everyone is different on the redness question. Mine stays for about 15 mins, but my sister's stays red for 2 days. If you have someone that knows what they are doing then yes they will look good. I recommend that my clients come in no less than 4 times a year, and that is ONLY is they do maintenance in between. They will eventually lose their shape, but regular waxing keeps the pain down....you kind of get used to it. Most professionals will not wax the top. That is where your natural arch is...that doesn't mean they won't clean it up if it looks a mess. Don't stress over it, I'm sure you will love it! Your make-up will go on much smoother. I never recommend getting them waxed is ';flo'; is in town though...you are more sensitive during that time and it may hurt a little more.
1.) 6 it depends on the area
2.) About 2 hours
3.)YEAH
4.)of course
5.) yepp unless they are a really crappy place
and yes that is a GREAT place to get it done.
first time 8 lol
like 2-3 hours
yes it will lol
depends how thin you wax it
ya
sure i usually get it done at nail shop 4 like 6 or 7 dollars
well if its yout first time most likely a 10 but after like a 6 it will stay red for like an hour or 2 it will look good if you get it done by the right person you can tweeze it after a couple weeks if it grows back try to get the same person each time you do go get it waxed bcuz they know how your eyebrows are and most likely they won't mess up
It hurts a bit the first time, but not very bad. You can handle it, promise! It hurts a lot less than tweezing and is faster.
Mine only stays red for about 10-15 minutes. I have olive skin.
Yes, it can really improve your looks.
Sure, but you probably will not want to not tweeze after. Waxing is so much faster.
And a day spa/hair place is probably the best and safest way to go. Good luck!
it hurts about 7, not too much--your eyes may water up
stays red about 20 mins or 30 mins
it will look good! i was weary at first, but my friends got me a gift card at a spa and i loved how it looked
after you are done once, you can tweeze if you want
http://video.aol.com/video-detail/how-to鈥?/a>
The amount it hurts depends on where you go and on how often you've gotten it done. The first time it hurts the worst but I'd say it's still a 3-4. Everyone varies regarding how long they stay red but no more than a couple hours, assuming it was done properly. That brings me to my last point, which is very important, ONLY GO TO A GOOD PLACE. It is important that you go to a reputable person who knows how to wax because if the wax is not the right temp you could get burned and lose skin. This has happened to me a couple of times. Don't go to a random roadside nail salon, go to a spa and ask who there best waxer is and how often she waxes. Also, once you find a good person keep going to them. You want to maintain a consistent shape to your brow
1 - hurts like a 7...but for like 2 seconds
2 - depends on the person... when i get mine done they don't get red at all
3 - when i got mine done for the first time, I was scared when i sat down. I told the lady it was my first time... so she kinda walked me through it telling me what she was going to do so i wasn't caught off guard by it.
4 - you can tweeze after... I would try to go once a month, and maintain mine in between times... because I can't always get the ones they get when they wax....
5 - Top and bottom, yes... they'll be able to shape them better like that...
6 - I get mine done at a nail salon... they're good where i go.
you'll be fine.... and once you do it, you'll want them to do it instead of you... lol
good luck. :-)
Each person is a little different. I personally do not like the thought of hot wax going on and then being ripped off with the hair. I would rather tweeze. They will do whatever you want or need done as far as top and bottom go. You are probably going to a place that does it regularly, so yeah, that's good.
hey i just got mine done i get mines done 1ce a month.
and first time its like 4. it really dont hurt.
mine stay red for like 4...hrs maybe 5.
Yea i mean i dont like BuSh *ask to arch them)
Yea i guess u could.. It takes time thats why i get mines done
Yea they should do both and unibrow

Eyebrow waxing problem!!!!!!?
I got my eyebrows waxed for the first time yesterday and when i got home, and took a good look in the mirror once the swelling went down, i noticed that when she waxed above my eyebrow, she left two eyebrow shaped patches above my eyebrows!!! I have light skin, so it isn't that bad, but the ';peach fuzz'; all over my forehead makes the two waxed areas of my forehead stand out!!! My makeup wont cover it and waxing the rest of my forehead won't solve anything. I was thinking about getting bangs, but that is on friday at the earliest. What can I do that won't cost alot of money until then so the bare spots aren't as noticealbe???Eyebrow waxing problem!!!!!!?
One reason why wholesale eyebrow waxing is not a good idea ...
Fortunately the ';peach fuzz'; -- the tiny fair hairs that cover your skin all over -- will soon grow back. Meanwhile, a slightly heavier application of makeup, plus face powder, ought to help. Don't mention it to anybody, and hope that it goes unnoticed until your face gets back to normal or you decide to get bangs.Eyebrow waxing problem!!!!!!?
if it's one thing a good beautitian should know is that you dont's wax/pluck the tops of eyebrows. only underneath!
ahhhh okay im not sure how to answer that but i had to get that off my chest.
GO BACK THERE AND YELL AT HER
sorry!
use face hair bleach its used for the upper lip mostly but it can also be used on the face just follow the directions and the hair should turn really light almost invisible
Shave the peach fuzz all around the patches with a good razor.
hope this helps. I've been in your situation before.becca

Eyebrow Waxing for the FIRST TIME!?
1- How much should you tip
2- How many hours does it take for the redness to go away
3- What kind of ';styles'; do they have
4- How long will I be at the salon
5- Is it ok to go to a place that does nails %26amp; waxing
PLEASE be serious.Eyebrow Waxing for the FIRST TIME!?
1. Tip what you think is appropriate. I usually give $3-$5
2. The redness depends on your skin. Mine take about 2 hours.
3. Styles depend on your eyes. Usually the person waxing knows what they are doing and they will give you the best advice. If you think they didn't take off enough tell them to do more.
4. Getting your eyebrows waxed should take NO MORE then 15 minutes. If it does find someone else.
5. Yes. If they do Nails and Waxing it should be fine.
Tips: Make sure they clean the eyebrow area before and after they apply the was. If they don't it will leave a bad rash, or your skin may break out. Also cleaning afterwards makes sure that all the wax is off your skin and it prevents hairs from ingrowing.
Good luck! Your going to love how it looks when your done!Eyebrow Waxing for the FIRST TIME!?
Tip 20%
Usually just takes 15-20 min. for redness to go away.
Don't know about styles. They usually know what to do.
Just takes 10 min., so plan on being there 30 min.
Yes, it's okay to go to a place that does nails %26amp; waxing.
- 2 to 5
- a few
- ask what they have
- 10-30 min
- never have
1: $3
2: Like a day, or two (completely away, natural looking)
3: Less than what you have now, bring a picture
4: Three minutes, not long at all
5: If the place is normally clean, I'd say go for it
Of course I'll be serious!
hmm
1 - depends how much they charge
2 - it depends on how sensitive your skin is, mine goes away in like 30 mins
3 - hmm idk you should ask them
4 - for me it takes abut 10 - 15 minutes
5 - yes, i got to a place where it does nails %26amp; waxing
1 not sure
2 about 2 hrs
3 any shape u want i get mine ';cleaned up'; same shape lil thinner
4 maybe 3 to 5 mins? took
5 yes...i got mine dun @ a red carpet nails
I usually get my eyebrows waxed when I go into the nail salon to get pedicure %26amp; manicure........
1. I have became friend with the lady that does my eyebrow so I usually tip her $4
2. The ';redness'; only last like about 30 mins or less for me
3. style? hmmmmmm.... I like mine thin ?
4. eyebrow waxing is fast, only a few minutes to wax and pluck the few hair that the wax missed
5. yea, that's where I get it done
Hope I helped =)

um it takes like 2 hours for the redness to reduce
they can change the styles to look however you want...remeber they are your eyebrows. - oyu should ask for them to be thick and then as they should start get thinner where your eyes pupil is. if its your first time they should not be too thin...they are hard to grow back
typical eyebrow waxing takes like 3 minutes.
yes you can go to a nail salon/waxing place. thats where i go and they do a good job.
AND YOU SHOULD KNOW....try not to be nurvous when your getting waxed...it would effect the shape of your eyebrows.
waxing so does not hurt that bad and you will be fine!!!

1: Probably 5-10 bucks.
2: It depends on how sensitive your skin is. Mine takes a little under an hour.
3: You can tell them what you want. Not too much arch or too thin because thin and arched lookes good but not super-thin and super-arched, get it?
4- If you're only doing brows, probably 20-30 minutes cuz you have to wait for the brow stylist to come.
5- Yeah but i would go to a hair salon. I have learned that it is usually less painful at a hair salon and more painful at a nail salon. I really don't know why.
Don't go for the cheapest waxing because it hurts A LOT more that a slightly more expensive waxing. But don't spend a fortune because its only your eyebrows. It's not like it's a bikini wax or something. Make sure it's between $15 (pain!) and $45 (a bit pricy. go for 30-40. it's comfortable and yet not too expensive...!). If it's more, make sure it's REALLY good quality. Hope this helps!

well...tipping depends on how much they chard, usually its between $12 and $15, so about $3 or $4 should be fine....as for redness, mine goes away in about an hour, maybe 2 at the very very most...but it varies from person to person. And for styles....they don't really have styles. The waxer is a professional, they look at your face shape and just wax it to what should look good on you...and it should take no more than 10-15 minutes. And as for going to a nail salon to do it...I really don't know...I always go to the professional spas to get mine done....to be honest i don't really trust the nail technicians, I have some friends who have gone to them and they have messed their eyebrows up
Good luck!!
tip~aprx. $2
redness~perhaps days!
style~take a very little amount for ur first time; u can pluck more later, but u cant get it back once its gone (until it grows)
time~anywhere from 20 min to 2 hrs. (depending on wait)
place~usually check out where other people go; see if u like their eyebrows
i am so serious
1) tip like $4 or 5
2) it takes about 1-2 hours for the redness to go away
3) they will style it for you, you don't need to worry about that
4) waxing goes VERY fast, about 5 minutes will do it
5) yes..it's fine to go to a nails %26amp; waxing place.
and it hurts like heck the first time you get it done...but don't worry, but after the first time it doesn't hurt at all!! good luck!

1.Not that much its a 10 min job??
2.It depends it was like 4 me 20mins and I have sensitive skin
3.They give you a book
4.like 10-15mins
5.Its perfectly fine
They left one usually hurts more?!!;//
1-10, 15% percent of what you paid
2-for mine 30 minutes, and i have sensitive skin
3-I just told her whatever would look best, turned out great
4-My wax took 5 minutes
5-I got mine at a hair/nail and waxing salon.
Stop worrying! Trust me, i was scared, but it doesn't even hurt, ask for the most experienced, and ask her to talk you through what she will do before she does it. I got it done last month for the first time, and i'm so happy i did. Just calm down, okay, it will be great! Good luck!! Best of wishes :)
1- Honestly, I only tip like 5 bucks
2- only like 1 they put cream on it to make it go away faster.
3- They will do whatever you want. I usually ask them to thin them out and give them shape. (I have thick bushy eyebrows) You really don't want your brows too thin, but usually they know what they are doing. if you are a teen like me, they try not to thin them out too much cause you are young and it might grow back thicker.
4- it takes like 5-10 minutes to do.
5- To be honest, don't know. I go to my hair styling place, but usually if you go to a pro place and not just a weird shop no ones ever heard of you should be fine.
I am totally serious. You will be fine and look great!
