What is fair compensation for permanent damages caused by ripped batches of skin from a eyebrow waxing?

I had my eyebrows waxed at a Beauty Salon of one of the larges retailers in the world over two months ago. They torn off large batches of skin on both eyelids. I had to first go to my Doctor who's was shocked! the very next day. I was running a high temperature and my eyelids were almost swollen shut. It was infected with a yellowish discharge. I have had to go to 4 different doctors as of today for the injuries. I can still feel a low grade burning sensation. I had to take 750 mg of vicodone for the pain when it was non-stop for a least a month. My Doctor also sent me out to be treated for severe depression and a sleep disorder because my eyelids are still damaged and they told me that it will be at-least another 7 months before I see any changes and there is some permanent damage that I have to just learn to live with. The insurance company (aig) wants to settle with me but I don't know what a fair settlement should be.What is fair compensation for permanent damages caused by ripped batches of skin from a eyebrow waxing?
Whatever you do do not take the first offer, because the first offer will be the lowest where the insurance company will be trying to see how cheap they can get out of it. You have a claim, and if they were responsible for your medical bills then this would cost them alot more, I wouldn't take less than 80thous, because you have been traumatized. The whole thing is awful, and its really hard to put a price on your well-being. However I wouldn't settle until you are done with going to the Dr's., as long as you are under Dr. care then you shouldn't settle because of long term affects like nerve damage, which could still happen. The insurance company doesn't want to know the long term affects, they are ready to sweep this under the rug, but make them wait until your ready, don't make it easier for them at your expense, the offer will only get higher. Your Dr, probably encouraged you to file a claim, because he knows you underwent treatment with an incompetent person.Good Luck with your recoveryWhat is fair compensation for permanent damages caused by ripped batches of skin from a eyebrow waxing?
The cost of medical bills and the amount of money missed because of lost wages. Any money that you would have had, had this event not taken place. No more, No less. Don't be frivolous just be honest.
It's impossible to answer without knowing *WHY* batches of your skin got ripped off. Did the salon make a mistake or did you just react badly even though they did everything right?
you are just after money, so i won't help you! i'm SURE you had severe depression because of your eyebrows!
a fair settlement would be the price for the medicine and doctor visits as well as some compensation for the sleep and pain such as a couple thousand dollars would be fair. at least 1000
dummy, don't get'em waxed anymore duh! u can't sue someone for your own stupidity.

PS: i wax my buttocks
If you went into the salon with all your skin intact and left damaged they are responsible for your medical bills, pain and suffering, and compensation for any permanent disfigurement or disability. You prior conditions should have no affect on this as they had nothing to do with this injury. Since you have no idea what the outcome will be i would not settle until that has been established. I would have no pity on the store or the people doing the waxing. It is their responsibility to notice if they are removing hair of parts of your face. I would think something in the 100,000 dollar range ( above your medical costs) would be fair to them. It may not really compensate you if there is permanent scarring or contracture of the eyelids. I have never sued anyone for an injury however were i injured as you have been i would have no mercy.
OMG I have heard of your skin coming off but I didnt think that actually happens when you go to a salon. That must hurt so bad. Definitely ask for compensation for all of the medical expenses. Then you have to figure if you want to ask for compensation for your ego if you are going to look funny for 7 months. Those people should go through training, especially at a chain salon. I would be so upset I'd work them for as much as I could.
Wow, that's a tough question, although there is a formula the jury would use if you went to civil trail. Maybe you should contact a lawyer and ask them what your case is worth. It maybe hard to find a lawyer that will answer your question without you giving him your business. I would try and settle first for an amount that you think is fair after doing your research because if a lawyer gets his greedy hands on it he will take up to 50% when you did all of the suffering.

How do the eyebrow waxing go so bad? I get mine waxed all the time and I have had some minor scabbing when I let someone do it at the beauty school, but I can't amagine how this could happen. Sorry you have to suffer.

Good Luck.

Why is there whiteness above the eyebrow after the eyebrow gets waxed?

When i got my eyebrows waxed a looooong time ago, i saw that there was a white patch above each eyebrow (about the length of the eyebrow). I thought that it was no big deal since the hair just came off and i needed sun so it can turn the same color as the rest of my face. But, up to today its still there! Its a little bit faded, but its there. How do i get rid of it??? It looks horrible. Is there anyway to get rid of it?? Please Help!!!!Why is there whiteness above the eyebrow after the eyebrow gets waxed?
That's scar tissue from where the hairs got pulled out. Scar tissue won't tan, so it will always be like that. Why is there whiteness above the eyebrow after the eyebrow gets waxed?
Because the rest of your face is exposed to sunlight, but that part of your face was covered by hair, so the sun didn't reach it. Like how the middle of your butt is always lighter than the rest of your body, because you're always covering it.
because it is harder to tan through hair and its normally not as tanned and can sometime pull of a thin layer of skin which makes you look less tan and sometimes its the way the wax reacts with the skin and don't worry its not going to be white for ever give it 1 week tops and it should match the rest of the skin.
The reason why your skin is white where you waxed is because even though you can't tell, there are tiny hairs all over your face. When you waxed the hair above your eyebrow it took all the tiny hairs that actually darken your face as well. It won't be white any more once the hair grows back.
Actually, let the hair grow out and don't allow anyone to remove hair from the top of your eyebrows. That is where the natural line of the eyebrow is and it should be left alone and the bottom should be contoured to follow the top browline.
It's because it couldn't get tan since it was under the hair. Just give it a few days and it will even out. You can rub a little self tanner on it if you want to even it out more.
Get some bronzer and just fill it in.
because it pulled off the tanned skin
use bronzer and cover it up
it just needs to get sun. it takes a while
are you kidding???

thats where your hair was

no sun
you just riped your hairs and mind you Skin off your eye brow!! what you see is the after affects of it. new skin :)

  • How much is the proper amount to tip for an eyebrow wax?

15%, unless they did something amazing, like blow on the hot wax to cool it down for you. Then I would leave more. How much is the proper amount to tip for an eyebrow wax?
15 - 20% of the amount of the eyebrow waxHow much is the proper amount to tip for an eyebrow wax?
Well, where I get mine done, it costs me $15. Anyway, I leave a $5 tip because I get treated very well, and she does a great job too, so its worth it. I know $15 for an eyebrow wax sounds like a lot, but the place I get them done at is a really nice, high-end day spa with excellent service, so I don't mind paying a little more.
    $2-3
    I usually tip 3 bucks.
    30WX
I've never had an eyebrow waxing that costed more than $10.00, so I don't normally tip more than $2-$3.
    $2-$4
I get my eyebrows threaded every two weeks- it's only $6 a pop and i tip the lady $2 every time.

since i go there so often... you know, you gotta tip well! :)

Skin ripped off from self eyebrow wax. What will heal it faster?

school starts in a week and i just know it's going to scab!

what will help heal it faster?

i already put on the finishing oil that came in the box.Skin ripped off from self eyebrow wax. What will heal it faster?
put a medicated cream on it that you can buy from any drug store, completely cover it and don't completely rub it in and leave it like that as often as you can, it works wonders for me. Good Luck!Skin ripped off from self eyebrow wax. What will heal it faster?
I did that to my upper lip, What I did was cover apply polysporin (I think neosporin is the same thing) all over the area and not touch it, and re apply every hour or so and mine healed really quick.

You can get it at Walmart or pretty much anywhere, good luck, and remember, don't touch it (:
Polysporin does wonders for things like that, and itll forsure make it not scab, just keep re-applying it. Im sure youv heard of it you can get it at any store like wal mart =)
i dont think you can heal it any faster just dont pick it i dont know why you would but that may not be the best idea... and that sounds like it hurts and you are REALLY pretty
Put Neosporin cream on it. It will help to heal it much faster and it will help to not leave a scar and the scrab will not be that bad.

How can I do my eyebrows without waxing or tweazing?

I'm 12 and waxing is just too painful and I haven't tried tweazing nor do I want to. Is there any other way to work my eyebrows? Please and thank youHow can I do my eyebrows without waxing or tweazing?
If you have faith, god will do it.How can I do my eyebrows without waxing or tweazing?
Threading: It removes lines of hair. Hurts more than waxing, as hair will be constantly removed instead of at one go. Cheap. Can do it yourself. It's only good for small areas like eyebrows

Ok well there is threading..and that is good becuase the more you get it done ...the thinner the hair gets until it is no more..great really...but as for tweezing numb your skin with ice and pull your skin slightly..it really is not that bad..my sister is sensitive to pain too...lol
yeah, you can thread or nair, but really, plucking doesn't hurt that much AT ALL
tweezing isnt painful at all, just try it.
    Have them threaded.

But may i warn you. It hurts like a *****.

    Results are great though.
